The major renovation of the Children's Ecological and Biological Center in Nizhnekamsk has been completed.

      The Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, together with the General Director of the Nizhnekamsk enterprise SIBUR, Marat Falyakhov, visited the children's ecological and biological center. Here, with the support of the company, a major renovation has been completed. Today, the first "Ecohouse of SIBUR" in the region operates on the basis of the institution, and other ecological and educational programs initiated by the oil and gas chemical company are being implemented.

      This is a modern educational platform where children and adults learn the principles of careful attitude towards the environment, learn to sort waste, discover the closed-loop recycling of materials, and explore the possibilities of resource reuse. Visitors are informed about the role of recycling in reducing the burden on the environment and forming ecological culture in various formats.

      The "Ecohouse" in Nizhnekamsk opened on November 15, 2025. In six months, it has been visited by more than 6,000 people — schoolchildren, students, and families with children.

      Another area of the center's work has become the "Recycling Workshop." Under the guidance of teachers, including employees and veterans of "Nizhnekamskneftekhim," children study types of plastic, observe recycling processes, and create useful products from secondary raw materials with their own hands.

      With the company's support, a major renovation of premises with a total area of almost 10,000 square meters has been carried out at the center, modern equipment has been purchased, and 14 educational spaces have been created. Among them are laboratories for forestry, eco-monitoring, and biotechnology, a practical site "Community Garden," as well as specialized classes for natural sciences and ecology.

      The Nizhnekamsk experience has already attracted the interest of colleagues from other regions. This month, educators and methodologists from kindergartens in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, and Bryansk visited the center. Using the example of eco-classes, they learned about practices where children create crafts from natural materials and secondary raw materials, master painting, graphics, and the basics of an eco-friendly lifestyle. The center's upcoming plans include the opening of agro-classes.

      The General Director of "Nizhnekamskneftekhim," Marat Falyakhov, emphasized that the development of educational infrastructure, as well as the promotion of an eco-friendly lifestyle, is an important part of the company's ESG strategy and social investments in Nizhnekamsk. Minnikhanov noted the significance of joint projects between businesses and educational institutions for the development of ecological culture in the republic.
