"I do not shy away from responsibility, my personal pain": Mullin's arrest has been extended until August 3.

The Naberezhnye Chelny court extended the arrest of the former head of the Nizhnekamsk district, Ramil Mullin — he will remain in pre-trial detention until August 3. This was reported by a correspondent from "BUSINESS Online" from the courtroom. The investigator Marat Khadeev requested the extension of the preventive measure. According to him, about 100 military personnel have already been interrogated in the case. Mullin himself asked the investigation to place him under house arrest: "I can stay at home during these investigative actions. I think there is nothing preventing this. Huge thanks to the state and the investigator for allowing me to rest for six months after 30 years of my public service. But I think it is already time to be released and work for the good of the republic and the country." According to Mullin, he was brought to Chelny from the pre-trial detention center a week before the trial. "There is no air to breathe there! There are no walks," he complained. He also mentioned that he reads religious books and engages in sports while in pre-trial detention. Mullin added that every day feels like "Groundhog Day." "I couldn't even think that the funds allocated for supporting the SVO could be pocketed and misused. This is simply sacrilege! <…> I am not evading responsibility, I am not hiding, I am not concealing the circumstances of the case. I am personally interested in the truth! This is my personal pain, personal interest. I just want all circumstances to be investigated objectively," said Mullin. Furthermore, Mullin complained about the ineffective investigation of the case: "I do not want my case to be politicized. But in this case, my defenders have filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office of the republic regarding the inaction of the investigator concerning the procedural actions that were taken... I ask the prosecutor of the republic, Suyargulov Albert Zakiyevich, to carefully look into the case and delve into this process." Mullin was detained by operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the FSB in December. He is believed to be involved in fraud related to the payments of "recruitment" bonuses for attracting residents of the Nizhnekamsk district to contract service in the SVO. The funds for the payments — up to 100,000 rubles for each recruited contractor — were allocated through the local "Patriot" center and then paid to the recruits. However, law enforcement officials believe that the names of fighters who had already signed contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense were included in the list of recruits brought in by the recruiters.

After which, the Investigative Committee and the Economic Security Department believe, the money was cashed and distributed among the group members, part of it could have been handed over personally to Mullin. The amount of damage in the case exceeds 30 million rubles. Additionally, a new episode related to the "SOLNTSE" school has been presented against Mullin.
