In Tatarstan, more than 3,900 teenagers will be employed in student work teams for the summer.

      Participation in student labor teams will be the first official entry into the labor market for the kids. In Tatarstan, during the summer of 2026, it is planned to provide temporary employment for more than 3,900 schoolchildren and college students aged 14 to 17 as part of student labor teams, reports "Tatar-inform." The activities of the student labor teams are coordinated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan within the framework of the national project "Youth and Children." For the kids, working during the holidays becomes an effective career orientation: they try themselves in real professions and better understand what specialty they would like to master in the future. According to the organizers, more than 85% of students in grades 8-11 express a desire to find a summer job. The director of the State Budgetary Institution "Republican Center for Student Labor Teams," Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Russian Student Teams Vasily Islaev noted that the employment of teenagers is a crucial element in fostering responsibility and professional orientation from a young age. Today, various formats of employment for minors have been created in the republic: from yard camps to work at railway stations and catering enterprises. As a result of last year, 3,930 kids found temporary work. Teams are formed at schools, vocational schools, youth centers, and enterprises. The salary, depending on the place of work and hours worked, ranged from 8,000 to 40,000 rubles for the summer month. For the teenagers themselves, participation in labor teams is their first official entry into the labor market with the signing of an employment contract and recording in their work book. In addition, student labor teams are seen as an effective tool for social prevention: the employment of teenagers reduces the risks of neglect and offenses. The teenager is under supervision, engaged in useful activities, and not left to their own devices.

      Great attention is paid to career orientation long before summer. Starting in 2024, Russian student teams will annually conduct a "Labor Lesson" as part of the "Conversations about Important Things" cycle. In 2026, more than 3,500 schoolchildren and students from secondary vocational education institutions participated in such classes in 64 educational institutions in Tatarstan. As a result of these lessons, student labor teams are beginning to form in schools and vocational schools in the republic.
