"United Russia" summed up the results of PG-2026
Residents have chosen candidates to represent the party in the autumn elections. The preliminary voting of "United Russia" is one of the most effective electoral practices, demonstrating the scale of citizen involvement in forming the party's candidate list for the elections, stated the party chairman Dmitry Medvedev at the joint meeting of the Bureau of the Supreme Council and the Presidium of the General Council. The results of PG-2026 were summarized there. "Political opponents of 'United Russia' make key decisions behind closed doors. Unlike them, our party is guided by the principle that everything is decided by the people. Voters are given every opportunity to determine in advance who will fight for the right to represent their interests in the highest legislative authority. This is our position, proven over time. It implies special responsibility for candidates before citizens. This approach signifies the political maturity of the party and its readiness to work in the interests of millions of people," he said. Dmitry Medvedev reported that 22,000 applications were submitted for the preliminary voting of "United Russia" across all levels of elections. In his opinion, this shows that people are eager to participate in party work, and the authority and influence of "United Russia" will help them implement the most serious projects and plans. "Another important point is the number of voters who cast their votes for the candidates. More than 10 million people have already expressed their position. This should be valued. This is a vote of confidence that our party receives," emphasized the party chairman. The victory in the preliminary voting of "United Russia" was won by 480 participants of the special military operation. During the procedure, 1,300 applications were submitted from the special operation fighters for all levels of elections. "This is a good result. And the best proof that people, in general, trust our comrades—those who are veterans, who participated in the special military operation. The president has repeatedly spoken about how important it is to help them find themselves in a new life, and governance and public administration are undoubtedly the most important aspects in terms of applying the skills of these people. The veterans of the special operation have shown themselves during communication with citizens. I hope all of them are focused on practical results," noted the party chairman. Dmitry Medvedev also reported that more than 1.5 million proposals have already been received for the new People's Program of "United Russia." Their analysis showed that the party must respond to seven key challenges. These include: demographic challenge; new professions and personnel shortage; inequality in the development of Russian regions; economic pressure; economic development. "This is related to the rapid development of new technologies and ensuring the security of our country. These seven challenges form the basis of the seven party priorities, the implementation of which will be dedicated to the People's Program," said Dmitry Medvedev at the joint meeting of the Bureau of the Supreme Council and the Presidium of the General Council of "United Russia." According to him, "United Russia" will soon present a political program for the long term. The party's manifesto is being prepared at the request of its chairman. "It is currently being finalized. This is our vision of the future," explained Dmitry Medvedev. The chairman of the Supreme Council of "United Russia," Boris Gryzlov, noted that public reports on the People's Program and preliminary voting allow the party to gain shape for a confident result in the elections. "The voter feels that the ruling party is not just pursuing populist policies, declaring slogans, but is reporting real deeds and consulting with its supporters about future candidates from the party," he remarked. The leading regions in terms of the absolute number of participants in the preliminary voting are: Moscow region, the city of Moscow, and Krasnodar Krai. In terms of the share of participants: the Republic of Tuva, the Republic of Ingushetia, and the Chechen Republic. The competition in the preliminary voting for the State Duma elections was 11.6 people per seat, while in regional elections it was 7 people per seat. The Secretary of the General Council of the party, Vladimir Yakushev, reminded that non-party participants in the preliminary voting, who performed well during the procedure and claim the right to represent "United Russia" in the elections, must determine their political status. "They must either become supporters or members of the party before the nomination at the Congress," emphasized Vladimir Yakushev. Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev drew the attention of participants in the preliminary voting to the fact that any attempts to hide political status will be strictly suppressed. A mandatory condition for participation in the elections from "United Russia" is membership in the party or belonging to the institution of its supporters—this is a principled position and a measure of honesty before voters. The party will approve the lists of candidates at the first stage of the "United Russia" Congress, which will take place on June 28. In conclusion, he presented a party card of "United Russia" to Hero of Russia Andrey Mityashin. A member of the party's Supreme Council is also a holder of two Orders of Courage and a participant in the first stream of the presidential program "Time of Heroes." It should be noted that a total of 98 candidates were included in the final list of preliminary voting for the State Duma in Tatarstan as a result of the application campaign. Among them, 8 are participants of the special military operation. The majority of participants on the list are men—80 people, with a total of 15 candidates being non-party members, while the rest are members and supporters of "United Russia." Of the total number of applicants, 34 candidates hold deputy status: 10 State Duma deputies (Oleg Morozov, Maxim Topilin, Alfiya Kogogina, Ruslan Gadzhiev, Aidar Metshin, Anatoly Ivanov, Rustam Kalimullin, Marat Nuriyev, Ilya Wolfson, Irek Boguslavsky); 5 deputies of the State Council of Tatarstan (Ruslan Shigabudinov, Rinat Fazylov, Eduard Sharafiev, Elena Kuzmicheva, Ivan Yegorov); as well as 19 deputies of local self-government. As a result, 201,690 residents of the republic cast their votes in PG-2026. The leaders of the list were Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of Tatarstan Elmira Zaripova, and State Duma deputy Aidar Metshin.
