       An updated regional program to combat oncological diseases has been approved in Tatarstan, according to which by the end of the decade, it is planned to significantly improve the key performance indicator of treatment effectiveness in the republic.

       According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, published on Friday on the official legal information website, by 2030, the authorities intend to increase by 7% the share of patients who live more than 5 years after being diagnosed with the terrible disease. To achieve this ambitious and vital goal, a comprehensive set of measures is planned to be implemented in the region aimed at radically improving the accessibility and quality of diagnosis and treatment of malignant neoplasms. Among the priority measures, the program provides for the improvement of the primary and secondary prevention complex for early detection of the disease, enhancement and optimization of the routing process for patients suspected of having a tumor, so that they can promptly reach specialized centers, active implementation of advanced information technologies in the work of the entire oncological service, development and implementation of measures to ensure full staffing of oncologists with qualified personnel, as well as the introduction of innovative and expensive treatment methods using radiopharmaceutical drugs. According to the plan, the funding for the program for the next two years will amount to 466.9 million rubles, of which 288.2 million will be allocated in the current 2026 year, and the remaining 178.7 million rubles will be allocated in 2027. The funds will come from both federal and republican budgets. It was previously reported that residents of Kazan owed more than 1 billion rubles for heating after an abnormally cold winter.
