Kazan fought for the opportunity to receive the first batch of Il-114-300 aircraft. He explained that the aircraft is primarily designed to replace those operating in the Arctic zone. However, interest has now also been shown by central regions, such as Kazan, Alekseev clarified. According to the agency, demand for the first three Il-114-300 aircraft has been overwhelming, and they will be received by the Second Arkhangelsk Aviation Squadron. A contract for the supply of Il-114-300 for "Aurora" will also be signed in the coming months, with the order in the final stages of formation. In May, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, informed President of Russia Vladimir Putin about the progress of Il-114-300 testing. According to him, the aircraft is already completing certification flights, and the first machines may be delivered to customers this year.
The Il-114-300 is a modernized version of the turboprop passenger aircraft Il-114, developed for operation on local air routes. It is being created in cooperation with Russian enterprises, including the participation of the state corporation Rostec. The flight range is 1,450 km, and it is designed for 66 people. The temperature range in which the aircraft can operate is from minus 50 to plus 45.
