Police in Kazan detained a suspect in the theft of money from an ATM.

      A 25-year-old local resident reported to the police that more than 7,000 rubles had been stolen from him. The applicant stated that he decided to withdraw money from an ATM in one of the shopping complexes in the Privolzhsky district. However, the attempt was unsuccessful: he was unable to complete the transaction and hurriedly left. When he returned to the ATM, the money was gone. Employees of the criminal investigation department conducted the necessary operational-search activities and established the circumstances of the incident. It turned out that a 26-year-old girl was involved in the theft of the money. She fully admitted her guilt. According to preliminary information, the young man approached the ATM to carry out the necessary transactions. However, the money that later appeared in the bill acceptor was taken by the girl who was standing nearby. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Theft." A measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and to behave properly has been chosen against the suspect. The police of Kazan urge residents to be cautious when conducting financial transactions: Do not leave cards and money in ATMs, watch out for those around you, and do not disclose personal information to strangers. Make sure that the transaction is completed before leaving the device. If you find money in an ATM, check if someone has recently walked away. Call that person and inform them that they forgot their money.
