A lecture on contemporary Southeast Asia will be held at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      On June 11 at 18:30, a lecture on international relations will be held at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan as part of the educational and enlightenment project Global Talks. The topic of the meeting is "ASEAN: What does modern Southeast Asia represent?". The project is implemented by the Academy of Youth Diplomacy. Global Talks is a series of open presentations by experts on current international relations and global challenges. The lectures take place in a discussion format with the participation of Russian specialists in the field of international relations and related disciplines.

      The lecture is dedicated to modern Southeast Asia – one of the most dynamically developing regions of the planet, where the interests of the largest world powers collide, new geopolitical centers are formed, and technological trends emerge. Participants will learn about how the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is structured and what tasks are set for cooperation in the "Russia – ASEAN" format; what socio-cultural and historical features shape the modern appearance of the region; what economic achievements have allowed the region to become one of the engines of global growth; and what internal and external challenges the region faces today.

      The speaker will be Alexander Korolev, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics at the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

      Dilyabar Sadykova, Chair of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy, noted that meetings within the framework of Global Talks are held regularly, and this is the main value of the project: the youth of Tatarstan have constant direct access to leading Russian international experts. According to her, this is an opportunity not just to listen, but to ask questions, discuss, and form their own understanding of global processes.
