      The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Bugulma district has initiated a criminal case on the signs of a crime provided for by Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Theft." During the preliminary investigation, it was established that a resident of Bugulma discovered the withdrawal of funds from her bank card, which she had previously lost under unknown circumstances. According to the investigation, from the end of April to June, an unknown person made contactless payments for goods in various stores in the city. The total amount of material damage amounted to more than 26 thousand rubles. As a result of the operational-search activities conducted by the police, a local resident involved in the illegal actions was identified. According to preliminary data, the woman found someone else's bank card in December of last year near one of the stores in the city. After some time, she decided to use the found card and made contactless payments for purchases at various retail outlets in Bugulma. Currently, necessary investigative actions and operational-search activities are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident and secure the evidence base.
