      The Federal Agency for Water Resources held another meeting of the Interagency Working Group on regulating the operation modes of reservoirs in the Volga-Kama cascade. The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Azat Ziganshin, participated in the event. The key issue of the meeting was the establishment of operating modes for the hydraulic structures for the period from June 11 to July 10, 2026. Currently, the spring flood is coming to an end in the reservoirs of the cascade. The Kuibyshev Reservoir is transitioning to a regulated operating mode with discharges of 6,000 m³/s, which will allow maintaining the water level close to the normal backwater level of 53.0 m BS. According to the Tatarstan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "VNIRO," the level of the Kuibyshev Reservoir during the spawning season of 2026 was favorable for the reproduction of aquatic biological resources. As of June 8, the water level in the Kazan area is 52.78 m BS, and in the upper reach of the hydraulic structure, it is 52.84 m BS. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan supported the operating modes proposed by Rosvodresursy:

      - Kuibyshev Reservoir — average discharge of 6,000± m³/s during the period;

      - Nizhnekamsk Reservoir — maintaining levels in the upper reach at the dam at 63.3–63.75 m BS.

      The next meeting of the working group is scheduled for the first decade of July. The approved modes will be published on the official website of Rosvodresursy.
