In the capital of Tatarstan, a significant increase in the number of candidates for the main school award – the medal "For Special Achievements in Learning" – has been recorded at the end of the academic year.
As reported on Monday at the traditional "business Monday" by the head of the Education Department of the Kazan Executive Committee, Irek Rizvanov, this year 1,279 graduates of the eleventh grades are applying for the medal, which constitutes 21% of the total number of eleventh graders in the city, writes "Tatar-inform." At the same time, 718 students have applied for the first-degree medal of the highest standard, while 561 individuals have applied for the second-degree medal. Compared to last year's figures, the number of candidates for the first-degree medal has increased by 12.4%, and for the second-degree medal – by 8.1%. Additionally, 1,127 students may receive a certificate of distinction based on their ninth-grade studies this year. A total of 23,076 graduates are undergoing state final certification in Kazan this year, of which 16,110 are finishing the ninth grade, and another 6,966 are in the eleventh grade. The academic year has been completed by 181,196 students of urban schools. Rizvanov also reminded that the admission campaign in Russian universities will start on June 20, and this year, applicants will be able to submit applications for targeted training through the updated platform "Work in Russia," which provides a monthly scholarship of fifteen thousand rubles and guaranteed employment after graduation. Over the past five years, 229 Kazan graduates have entered universities for pedagogical specialties through targeted programs, and on September 1, 37 young specialists will begin working in the city's schools. The main period of state final certification will last until June 19, and the city graduation ball for Kazan schoolchildren is scheduled for June 25. It was previously reported that over the past five years, the youth population in Tatarstan has decreased.
