The corresponding decree was signed by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Alexey Pesoshin. The restrictions will be in effect for two days — June 17 and 19. However, they do not apply to catering establishments. Primarily, the ban will affect event venues, including the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center, the Kazan City Hall, the Galiaskar Kamal Theater, and the Bashir Rameev IT Park. Alcohol will also not be available for purchase in key transport hubs — at Kazan International Airport and at Kazan-1 railway station. Temporary restrictions on the sale of alcohol will also apply in 27 hotels in Kazan. These include "Art Hotel," Relita-Kazan, "Grand Hotel Kazan," "Korston," Kazan Palace by TASIGO, "Nogai," NEO Kazan Palace by TASIGO, Cort Inn Kazan Kremlin, "Munib," Cosmos Kazan Hotel, Ramada Kazan City Center, "Olympus," Muse of City, "Mirage," Dion Inn, "Suleiman Palace," "Tatarstan," DoubleTree by Hilton Kazan City Center, "IT-Park Hotel," "Raymond," "Bulgaria," and "Volga."
The measures are introduced to ensure safety and maintain public order during the large international event in the capital of Tatarstan.
