      From April 25 to June 5, an operation "Spawning" took place in the republic. Inspectors identified poachers violating fishing regulations. According to Radik Mutakharov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources, during this time, 1,687 prohibited fishing tools were seized from water bodies, and the prevented damage exceeded 35 million rubles. A total of 865 fishermen were brought to administrative responsibility (fines ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 rubles). There were 28 cases identified with signs of criminal activity (fines up to 500,000 rubles or imprisonment for up to two years). For instance, in the Kuybyshev Reservoir, a man was caught with a net and 22 fish, while in the "Delta of the Belaya River" reserve, two poachers illegally caught 445 crayfish — the question of initiating a criminal case is being resolved. To ensure favorable spawning, specialists established over 27 km of spawning grounds in the Kuybyshev and Nizhnekamsk reservoirs.
