The day before, a Kazan lawyer, Eduard Minnigaliyev, was detained in Zelenodolsk. A case was initiated against him for mediating a large bribe. As "Real Time" found out, the amount in question is 550,000 rubles and relates to events in 2023. A criminal case for corruption has been opened in the Zelenodolsk branch of the Investigative Committee. The press service of the agency has not commented on it yet.
As sources from "Real Time" note, the essence of the claims against the professional defender casts a shadow on certain officials of the Zelenodolsk police, namely, employees of the Economic Security Department. It is they who the lawyer allegedly delivered 550,000 rubles to in December 2023 to prevent his client from being held criminally liable. At the same time, it is still unknown whether anyone from the police has been detained in this case.
It is expected that today the Zelenodolsk court will consider the petition for a preventive measure for the detained lawyer.
