      In Tatarstan, there are over 130,000 residents aged 80 and older who receive an increased insurance pension. This was reported by the press service of the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) for the Republic of Tatarstan. According to the legislation, when a recipient of an old-age insurance pension turns 80, the fixed payment is automatically doubled. In 2026, the basic amount of the fixed payment is 9,584.69 rubles. Thus, after the anniversary, retirees begin to receive an additional 9,584.69 rubles monthly, bringing the total amount of the fixed payment to 19,169.38 rubles. Specialists from the SFR branch in the Republic of Tatarstan emphasize that no applications need to be submitted, and there is no need to visit the fund in person to receive the supplement. The recalculation is done automatically based on the data available to the Social Fund. The pension in the increased amount starts to be credited from the citizen's birthday and is actually deposited into the account in the following month after the retiree turns 80. "The pension in the new, increased amount comes in the next month after the person turns 80. For example, if the birthday was in May, then in June the retiree will receive funds with the supplement. After that, the increased payment will be transferred every month on a regular schedule," commented Edward Vafin, the head of the SFR branch in the Republic of Tatarstan.

      Who is not entitled to the supplement

      Specialists point out exceptions. The doubling of the fixed payment does not apply to:

      - retirees with a first group disability (they receive an increased payment earlier when applying for a disability pension);

      - recipients of a social pension;

      - citizens receiving a pension due to the loss of a breadwinner.

      All other residents of the republic who reach the age of 80 will receive the additional pension supplement every month on a regular schedule.
