      Today, in the Kazan City Hall, the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, held a working meeting with a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Chan Duc Thang. The meeting took place as part of the Russia – ASEAN summit. The parties discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation between Kazan and Hanoi.       Ilsur Metshin and Chan Duc Thang expressed interest in further exchanging experiences and developing partnership relations between Kazan and Hanoi. The capital of Vietnam, with a population of 8.7 million people, shares with Kazan an interest in high technologies and large-scale infrastructure projects, including in the field of road and transport infrastructure. Metshin emphasized that the capital of Tatarstan is open to international cooperation and is ready to share successful municipal practices. In particular, the General Director of Kazan's Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Metroelektrotrans," Aidar Abdulkhakov, presented the work of the Kazan metro to the Vietnamese delegation. It is worth noting that today it includes one line with a length of about 17 kilometers and 11 stations. Over more than 20 years of operation, the Kazan metro has transported about half a billion passengers, and in 2025, more than 40 million people used its services. Currently, the construction of the second line is underway. Special attention was paid to technological solutions. The Kazan metro became the first fully digital metro in Russia and was also one of the first to implement cashless fare payment and modern automated train control systems. It fully complies with the requirements for a barrier-free environment. Representatives of Hanoi noted the high level of competencies of Kazan specialists and expressed interest in exchanging experiences in the construction and development of the metro. Chan Duc Thang mentioned that in recent years, the underground transport network has been actively developing in Vietnam: currently, there are more than 20 kilometers of metro lines in operation, and about 80 kilometers are under construction. In the future, the country plans to create a network of 22 lines with a total length of about 1,200 kilometers. The meeting also involved the deputies of the head of the municipal formation of Kazan, Evgenia Ludwigova and Ildar Shakirov, and the General Director of JSC "Kazmetrostroy," Marat Rakhimov.
