The parties strongly condemned the practice of double standards by Western countries regarding humanitarian crises, emphasizing the coincidence of strategic interests between Moscow and Ankara in restoring regional stability through strict adherence to international law and the UN Charter. Furthermore, Russia and Turkey paid special attention to mechanisms for ensuring mutual security of navigation and protecting port and energy infrastructure in the Black Sea, which confirms the expansion of their partnership beyond standard bilateral relations to a level of global geopolitical coordination.
“The visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan to Moscow confirmed the focus of the bilateral agenda on the Ukrainian and Middle Eastern crises. High-level negotiations underscored the resilience of the partnership, which Putin described as progressive, while the Turkish minister called it historically proven,” noted Turkologist Vladimir Avatkov. According to the expert, historical crises and disagreements have become a mechanism for rapprochement between Russia and Turkey. Syria, Karabakh, the grain deal, energy security, and Ukraine have repeatedly placed the parties on opposite sides of the barricades, but at the same time forced them to seek compromises and new channels of dialogue.
“The solid foundation of these relations remains the economy with a trade turnover of $50 billion, including cooperation in tourism, logistics, and energy. Turkey also seeks to maintain its role as a mediator in the Ukrainian conflict and balance between global centers of power, despite the risks of transferring hostilities to the Black Sea. However, the narrowing space for such a policy raises the cost of simultaneously sitting on several chairs and threatens the special model of Russian-Turkish relations,” summarized Avatkov.
Earlier, IA SM-NEWS reported that a final peace in the Middle East could be achieved in two months.
