In Zelenodolsk, the launch of a unique production of LNG compressor units has begun.
This is the first production and testing facility in Russia for large-tonnage liquefied natural gas compressor units. The creation of the complex is aimed at achieving the technological independence of the country and a complete rejection of imported compressor equipment in strategically significant LNG projects.
It is equipped with everything necessary for the production of large-sized high-power compressor equipment.
The event was attended by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko, and others.
Vladimir Putin noted that there have been no such enterprises in Russia; it is unique. This is another step towards strengthening Russia's technological sovereignty.
"This is one of the largest assembly testing complexes for compressor installations in the world with a capacity of up to 130 megawatts. The first unit for the Baltic LNG has already been fully designed from scratch and is ready for testing. Plans are in place for Murmansk. Previously, such technology was only available in the USA and Japan," emphasized Artem Molchanov, General Director of LLC "UK "Group GMS".
