       Tatarstan ranks second in Russia for IT mortgage issuance: in the first quarter of this year, banks approved loans totaling 1.8 billion rubles. The Republic of Tatarstan has confidently established itself among the leaders among Russian regions in the volume of preferential mortgage loans provided for IT specialists, showing explosive growth in the first quarter of 2026. According to the newspaper "Kommersant," citing data from the Ministry of Digital Development, Tatarstan issued loans under the IT mortgage program totaling 1.8 billion rubles from January to March of this year, which is 69 percent higher than the figures for the same period last year and is the second-best result in the country. Moscow ranks first by a wide margin, with issuance soaring by 98 percent to reach 3.25 billion rubles, while Sverdlovsk Oblast rounds out the top three with an indicator of 1.7 billion rubles and a growth of 49.5 percent. In total, 2,700 preferential IT mortgage loans were issued across Russia in the quarter, amounting to 19 billion rubles, which is almost 1.5 times higher than last year's level. It was previously reported that in the Republic of Tatarstan, the volume of auto loans issued showed moderate growth by the end of May 2026, and the republic itself strengthened its position among the leaders in this indicator in the country. According to experts, in the last month of spring, residents of the region took out loans for car purchases totaling approximately 8.1 billion rubles, which is 4 percent higher than the April figure.
