      Specialists from the branch of the Federal Center for Safety and Quality Assessment of Agricultural Products in Tatarstan tested samples of food peas for export to China. The total weight of the batch was 1.6 thousand tons. According to the results of the inspection, laboratory specialists found no pests, weeds, or diseases in the grain. "The grain is free from harmful insects and mites, quarantine weeds, and disease agents, which confirms that the batch of peas meets all regulatory requirements," noted Ulyana Polkanova, deputy head of the testing laboratory at the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Center for Quality Assessment of Agricultural Products" in the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, specialists conducted disinfection of the products in containers using a fumigation method with a preparation based on aluminum phosphide. According to specialists, when exporting to China, phytosanitary requirements must be met not only by the batch of peas itself but also by the agricultural land on which it was grown, as well as the storage facilities where the products were kept before loading. Since the beginning of the current year, as of June 22, more than 12.2 thousand tons of dried food peas have been exported to China, which is 3.5 times more than in the same period last year. Dried peas in China are mainly used for the production of noodles, as well as fiber and pea protein.
