The meteorite was classified as a group of carbonaceous chondrites, named after the village of Kayensaz, and most of it was taken for storage in Moscow. Two more massive fragments are kept in the Geological and Mineralogical Museum of Kazan Federal University, while the others are in various institutions around the world.
