The mayor of Ufa's house arrest has been extended for 2 months.
The mayor of Ufa, Ratmir Mavliev, has had his house arrest extended for another 2 months, reports a correspondent from "BUSINESS Online" from the court. A criminal case against Mavliev was initiated at the end of April this year, after which the court sent him to a pre-trial detention center. However, a week later, the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan changed this decision and chose a milder measure of restraint in the form of house arrest. Today, at the hearing, the investigation requested an extension of the house arrest while maintaining the previously imposed restrictions on the mayor, including a ban on using the internet. It is worth noting that Mavliev was hospitalized after his arrest due to heart problems, and later he wrote appeals to the Prosecutor General's Office and the Investigative Committee requesting a review of the legality of the criminal case initiation. According to the investigation, he and three other individuals illegally alienated a land plot of more than 1,300 square meters on the territory of the "Raduga" sanatorium. Furthermore, the investigation believes that in 2025, the official extorted a bribe from a developer, demanded that businessmen buy him a land plot, and collected funds from commercial organizations through shell funds under the guise of voluntary donations. Mavliev himself does not admit guilt, and his defense claims that the criminal prosecution is revenge for the principled position of the mayor, who previously initiated legal proceedings against the developer.
