From June 24 to July 3, large-scale preventive raids by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) titled "Pedestrian" are taking place on the roads of Tatarstan, during which special attention is paid to the safety of pedestrians, drivers, and electric scooter users.
In Tatarstan, the preventive event "Pedestrian" started on June 24 and will last until July 3 inclusive. The raids cover all municipal entities of the republic and aim to stabilize the road situation and reduce the number of accidents with casualties. The focus of the traffic inspectors is on three key risk areas. Firstly, monitoring how pedestrians cross the roadway, especially outside regulated crossings. Secondly, preventing cases where drivers do not give way to people at crosswalks. Thirdly, conducting explanatory work with citizens using personal mobility devices (PMDs) – hoverboards, unicycles, and electric scooters, which are becoming increasingly popular modes of transport in the cities of the republic.
The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate calls on all road users to be extremely attentive. The agency reminds that the cost of a mistake on the road is too high, and strict adherence to established rules is the only reliable way to preserve the most valuable thing – life and health. The raid groups are already working in the most accident-prone areas, and preventive measures will continue until the end of the week.
