Eight out of ten participants of the first championship for veterans of the special military operation "Abilympics" found employment. This was reported today at the opening of the second championship by the Deputy Chairwoman of the State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland" Alena Gavrilova. "According to the results of the last Abilympics championship, we record about 85% employment of participants of the special military operation who took part in the championship. Our task is to involve as many guys as possible in this movement. The championship will also discuss the topic of entrepreneurship. Over the past year, we have seen an increase in the involvement of guys in entrepreneurial activities," Alena Gavrilova said, adding that the employment of veterans of the special military operation is being monitored. She noted that this year there were many applicants to participate – about a thousand people. Gavrilova hopes for a multiple increase in participants each subsequent year and also spoke about in-demand professions. "We still have in-demand professions in the engineering and manufacturing sector; we attract and employ guys in the energy and transport industries. Soon we will have a veteran with an amputation of the left limb who works as a passenger bus driver," she said.
According to her, veterans of the special military operation also have great potential for employment in the IT sector. For example, they are undergoing training in information security and network administration. "This is a great opportunity to replace those specialists who left our country in 2022," she added.
