The doctors' club honored the memory of its first chairman – Academician Renat Akchurin.
The doctors' club, established in Moscow at the Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, honored the memory of the club's founder and first chairman - academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Renat Suleymanovich Akchurin. Colleagues, doctors from Moscow and Tatarstan, and the family of the renowned cardiac surgeon gathered at the Troekurovsky cemetery. The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – the Plenipotentiary Representative of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation Ravil Akhmetshin. It was Ravil Kalimullovich and Renat Suleymanovich who came up with the idea nearly 15 years ago to unite doctors from Tatarstan working in various medical clinics and institutes in the capital at the Representative Office of Tatarstan.
Over the years, much work has been done related to the exchange of experience with medical centers in Tatarstan and the training of young specialists in the healthcare sector in the region. Assistance is regularly provided in the treatment and saving of patients' lives. Ravil Akhmetshin spoke about all this while serving as the host of the memorial event, which took place as part of the celebration of Russia's Medical Worker Day. On this professional holiday, to honor the memory of a colleague, teacher, and friend, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the new chairman of the Doctors' Club Ramil Khabriev, doctors of medical sciences Ali Bekyashev, Rinat Bogdanov, Ilgiz Gareev, Elmira Mingazova, Ilvert Sharipov, Rustem Khasanov, and other doctors came. From the National Medical Center of Cardiology named after academician E.I. Chazov, the head of the heart and vessel microsurgery laboratory, Doctor of Medical Sciences Andrey Shiryayev, who worked with Renat Akchurin for decades, arrived. "I literally just came from the operating room, where I transplanted an artificial heart this morning. This is also a brainchild of Renat Suleymanovich; he insisted that we use an artificial left ventricle as an alternative to heart transplantation. Many achievements that he initiated continue and develop. We are proud that he is our teacher. We strive to continue his traditions and meet his high standards as a doctor, surgeon, and person," said Andrey Andreevich.
"Renat was happy to communicate with talented, intelligent doctors and scientists. He devoted part of his strength and soul to this work. Now the respected Ramil Usmanovich Khabriev has taken up the baton. And this work will continue. I am very grateful to all of you for your memory," addressed the gathering Renat Akchurin's wife, Natalia Pavlovna. According to Muslim tradition, the Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, Rushan Hazrat Abbiassov, read a prayer (dua) in memory of the deceased.
On the same day, a meeting of the Doctors' Club was held at the Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation. About 60 doctors from Moscow participated. The event also remembered Renat Suleymanovich Akchurin, who would have turned 80 this year.
On Russia's Medical Worker Day, the Doctors' Club was congratulated by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, Almir Abashev.
