       The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, thanked Kazan for the high level of organization of the Russia – ASEAN summit and apologized to residents for the road closures.

       On Thursday, at the sidelines of the anniversary summit Russia – ASEAN, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, gave the highest praise to the work of the event organizers, RIA Novosti reports. Thanking for the support of the event, the head of state emphasized that everything went as it usually does in Kazan – at the highest international level, without any exaggeration. “Thank you for the support of the event. Everything as usual in Kazan – at the highest international level, without any exaggeration,” said the president. At the same time, the president deemed it necessary to apologize to the residents of Kazan, who faced a number of everyday inconveniences during the summit, primarily large-scale road closures and changes to public transport routes in the city center and on major highways. According to sources, during the forum, Vladimir Putin held seventeen official events, including ten bilateral meetings with foreign leaders and heads of delegations. As previously reported, about four thousand official participants arrived in Kazan for the summit. According to the organizers' plan, their accommodation is provided in thirty hotels in the city. The anniversary summit, dedicated to the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Russia – ASEAN dialogue, is taking place in Kazan from June 17 to 19, and today a Business Forum opened on the sidelines of the forum. The organization itself (ASEAN) unites ten countries in the region: Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
