The Republic of Tatarstan confidently maintains its leading position in the implementation of the federal program "Pushkin Card" and, according to the results of the first quarter of 2026, has reached a clear first place in the volume of funds directed by youth towards cultural leisure.
Tatarstan has firmly established itself as one of the flagship regions of the Russian Federation in implementing the popular "Pushkin Card" program, which provides young people with the opportunity to visit cultural institutions for free at the expense of state funds. As reported by "Tatar-inform," citing data from the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, by the end of the first quarter of 2026, about 400,000 young residents of the republic aged 14 to 22 participated in the program, which constitutes a significant share of the entire target audience of the region. The republic consistently ranks among the top five national leaders in both the number of issued "Pushkin Cards" and the total volume of tickets sold, trailing only major cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg. Useful leisure Since the beginning of this year, the youth of Tatarstan has directed over 229 million rubles towards attending cultural, educational, and entertainment events, and in this regard, the republic ranks first among all subjects of the Russian Federation, even surpassing capital regions. On average, one holder of a "Pushkin Card" attends two to three cultural events per year, with the most active and engaged audience being young people aged 15 to 18. Among the most popular venues are cinemas, cultural centers, academic and drama theaters, museums, and concert venues. The program is most actively used by residents of Naberezhnye Chelny, as well as the Chistopol, Tyulyachinsky, Nizhnekamsk, and Almetyevsk districts. Previously, experts estimated that children and teenagers from Tatarstan spend about 25-30 hours online per week. Time is spent not only on games or communication but also on seeking advice on various issues from AI.
