An educational forum for election organizers with the participation of experts from the Central Election Commission of Russia has started in Tatarstan.

      In Kazan, a large educational forum for the heads of territorial election commissions of the republic has begun, dedicated to preparing for the campaign for the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation. Representatives of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are participating in the event. A working visit to Kazan was made by CEC member Lyudmila Markina, head of the Russian Center for Training in Election Technologies Elena Osipova, and Deputy Head of the CEC Office Elena Orlovskaya. They are conducting training sessions for the chairpersons and secretaries of the Tatarstan territorial election commissions, as well as connecting more than three thousand heads of precinct commissions via video link. A total of about 140 representatives of territorial commissions are participating in the forum, and about 65 territorial election commissions (including 6 district ones) and 2743 precinct election commissions will be involved in preparing for the Duma campaign in the region — about 22 thousand members of election commissions. "The modern electoral system of Russia imposes very high requirements on the professional training of election organizers. Today we are building a unified training system for members of election commissions across the country so that every employee of the electoral system has all the necessary knowledge and competencies in their arsenal," noted CEC member Lyudmila Markina. The head of the CEC of Tatarstan, Andrey Kondratiev, emphasized that only a few months remain until the single voting day, and the forum provides an opportunity to discuss key issues in preparing for the federal campaign. The program for the visit of federal experts is scheduled for two days.
