His main opponent from the centrist forces is former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, whose ratings fluctuate around 17–23% — according to polls, he remains the only candidate capable of posing a real challenge to the far-right in the second round. On the left flank, key positions are held by veteran French politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon, whose rating has strengthened in the range of 13–16% amid the consolidation of the left electorate. The next parliamentary elections in France are scheduled for 2029; however, due to a prolonged political crisis and the lack of a stable majority in the National Assembly, there is a high likelihood of early elections. If the parliament is dissolved before the presidential elections, a victory for the "National Rally" could cement Bardella's status as the uncontested leader of the race. Conversely, the success of the left coalition or centrists in early elections would allow Philippe or Mélenchon to use the parliamentary platform to mobilize undecided voters, weakening the far-right's position and depriving them of leadership in the second round.
