"Tens of thousands of guys are participating in new productions, construction projects, and developing our country."

      On the eve, a solemn opening of the All-Russian meeting of veterans of student construction teams took place at the "Energetik" House of Culture in Naberezhnye Chelny. More than 400 people are participating in it – veterans of the movement from 33 regions of the country, including the first builders of the automotive giant, as well as representatives of regional centers of the Russian Student Teams (RST).

      The organizers prepared a rich excursion program. A large-scale festival of construction team songs took place in the square named after Vladimir Vysotsky. Guests visited the visitor center and the KAMAZ factories, got acquainted with the infrastructure of the All-Union Student Construction. They visited the stele of the Komsomol shock construction, the monument "Glory to the builders of KAMAZ!", the memorial "To the Warriors of the Fatherland," and laid flowers. A bright performance took place at the "Energetik" House of Culture. Inside, an exhibition of historical photographs was set up.

      At the opening of the meeting, guests were welcomed by the Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Azat Kadyrov, State Duma Deputy Alfiya Kogogina, Mayor of the city Nail Magdeev, and Deputy General Director of PJSC "KAMAZ" for security, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of veterans of student teams of "KAMAZ" Siren Galiakberov. “Tens of thousands of young people built not only KAMAZ but the entire Soviet Union. And today, modern youth preserves these traditions and actively participates in the development of our country. Today, in student teams both in Tatarstan and across Russia, regions exchange students with each other, tens of thousands of guys participate in the development of new productions, in new constructions, in a large complex of works that allow young people to acquire new skills and develop our country,” noted the Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Azat Kadyrov.

      Mayor Nail Magdeev spoke about the special contribution of student teams to the history of Naberezhnye Chelny: “This year our city and our country celebrate two important dates: the 400th anniversary of the founding of Naberezhnye Chelny and the 50th anniversary of the release of the first KAMAZ truck. Why do I say 'country'? Because on that solid, reinforced concrete foundation – in every sense of the word – our legendary KAMAZ works today and a half-million city lives. If we look back at the history of student construction teams, at your youth, we can confidently say: that period was lived with benefit for oneself, for the country, for friends and loved ones. I had the honor of studying in Leningrad. After the first and second years, I worked in a student construction team in the Komi ASSR. Can this be forgotten? A construction team is friendship. A construction team is love. A construction team is new competencies. It is a special state of the soul that cannot be conveyed. To understand this, one must live and work in a construction team.”

      Deputy General Director of PJSC "KAMAZ" for security, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of veterans of student teams of "KAMAZ" Siren Galiakberov welcomed the guests on behalf of "KAMAZ": “I congratulate you on behalf of the thousands-strong workforce of the enterprise, once created by the hands of 25 thousand students – boys and girls who went through this school of construction of KAMAZ. Today, with the support of General Director Sergey Anatolyevich Kogogin, we have revived the zonal headquarters of student teams – the first production zonal headquarters in the country. I am the chairman of the Supervisory Board of student teams of "KAMAZ" and I see how the guys work today. These are the traditions laid down by Komsomol builders and which are carefully passed down from generation to generation. I am proud that I myself went through this school, worked as part of the student teams of Kazan State University. Student teams are a school of life, they embody the spirit of collectivism, they are traditions that we carry through the years.”

      Important points in his congratulation were emphasized by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Russian student teams Mikhail Kiselev: “More than 20.5 million people have gone through the school of student teams. This is a unique organization with unique traditions – no one else has anything like it. Among the veterans of the movement are President of Russia Vladimir Putin, prominent political and public figures, large businessmen, and bright representatives of culture and show business. Today's graduates of student teams are already making a name for themselves both in creativity and at leading enterprises in the country. It is especially symbolic that the meeting takes place on the legendary land of KAMAZ. The fighters of the student teams played a crucial role in this construction, demonstrating examples of selflessness and brotherhood. For us, working at KAMAZ is part of forming professional and human qualities, and we are proud to continue the glorious traditions.”

      Veterans of the movement were awarded for the development of student teams.

      Russian student teams are the largest labor movement of Russian youth. Hundreds of thousands of young people work in student teams every year, gaining their first work experience, earning a decent salary, and making a significant contribution to the development of the country. Before entering the summer labor semester, participants in the movement can receive free training in an additional working profession; since 2021, more than 170 thousand people have taken advantage of this opportunity.
