      This Friday, the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko, and President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba attended the national Tatar holiday Sabantuy in Sukhum. The event took place on the Mahadjirov embankment. Tatarstan was represented at the celebration by a delegation from the Aktanysh district.

      Minnikhanov thanked the Abkhaz authorities for their warm welcome and noted that specialists from the republic participated in the reconstruction of the updated embankment.

      "There are a few small landscaping works left - everything will be completed in two months," he said, emphasizing the importance of developing ties between Tatarstan and Abkhazia in the economy, tourism, education, and sports. The celebration featured pavilions showcasing Tatar life and crafts, as well as traditional games and a joint concert of Tatar and Abkhaz groups.
