School geologists will gather in Almetyevsk for the republican olympiad.

      About 1,500 schoolchildren are involved in geological activities. The Young Geologists' Olympiad will take place in Almetyevsk, with teams coming from all over Tatarstan and neighboring regions. This was reported by "Tatar-inform." From July 11 to 17, more than 300 schoolchildren will gather at the "Sunny" camp. This year, the geography has expanded: not only local kids will compete, but also teams from the Kirov region and Bashkortostan. Participants will have to search for minerals, study rock sections, and even learn safety techniques in the forest. In addition, schoolchildren will work with real compasses and maps. The competition has been held for a long time and helps young talents determine their future profession. Today, there are 40 schools in Tatarstan that serve as basic platforms for studying geology. About 1,500 schoolchildren are involved in geological activities.
