The exchange of massive strikes deep into the territories critically depletes the stock of long-range missiles in Russia and threatens its key economic infrastructure. Attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil refineries deal heavy damage to fuel production and deprive the budget of export revenues. Under harsh sanctions, the domestic defense industry faces a shortage of imported chips, which slows down the replenishment of the precision arsenal. "The establishment of a unified command in the Armed Forces of Ukraine centralizes the planning of strikes on Russian rear areas, integrating digital management systems and capabilities of various agencies. In response, Russia effectively uses a centralized system of combined air attacks; however, the vast territory of the country and bureaucracy complicate the organization of equally reliable defense," explains war correspondent Alexey Zhivov. To overcome the crisis, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation urgently need to deploy the "Pantsir" and "Tor" air defense systems for round-the-clock protection of civilian oil refineries. The defense industry should abandon complex missile weapons in favor of mass production of cheap guided bombs and kamikaze drones. Oil companies need to quickly deploy mobile electronic warfare groups and anti-drone nets around vulnerable rectification columns. "The prolonged exchange of deep strikes depletes Russian technological and economic resources under sanctions while Ukraine receives stable Western support. To overcome this unfavorable strategy, decisive systemic changes are necessary, the implementation of which is hindered by the reluctance of Russian elites to take personal risks," states Zhivov.
