"Rubin" finally won in the off-season: how Artiga's guys defeated the Samara team
"Rubin" won against "Krylia Sovetov" at home in a friendly match
"Vamos" from Artiga and self-sufficient Samaritans
Twenty minutes before the game, the teams were already warming up, checking the goalkeepers, and completing tasks from the physiotherapists. Around the same time, "Rubin" posted the starting lineup on their social media - the unexpected appearance of Igocukwu Iwu caught attention. The rest were as planned. When the teams lined up at the edge of the field for the official entrance, it was amusing to watch, or rather listen to one of the opposing coaches. He motivated his players in a peculiar way: "We are self-sufficient, let's go, forward." By the way, the clubs agreed - we play two halves of 60 minutes each. Every half hour there is a water break, during which players can catch their breath and receive valuable instructions.
The first minutes were, as is classic for any football match, a reconnaissance battle. But it must be admitted that the hosts conducted this reconnaissance better. In the first five minutes, Kazan had a fantastic moment - Anderson Arroyo crossed from the right in one touch into the penalty area, but Nazmi Gripshi was just a bit too short to connect with the pass.
Samara came up with their response ten minutes later, but it essentially did not result in any particular success. Meanwhile, on the Kazan bench, there was activity - Frank Artiga was giving instructions to his players in three languages - Russian, English, and Spanish. For example, he shouted to Gripshi: "Vamos, Gripshi, vamos!" (for those who are not familiar with Spanish, it means "Forward, Gripshi!").
It should be noted that the teams seemed to forget they were playing a friendly match. The passions were boiling as if it were a championship game. In the 31st minute, Arroyo was kicked in the legs, and he immediately retaliated. The referee only called a foul in the second instance. Then the opponent threw the ball into Anderson's back. A scuffle broke out, which even Artiga rushed to extinguish. Meanwhile, the Spaniard was reprimanding the referee.
Bezrukov earned a penalty, Vuyachich scored the decisive goal
The first half ended in a goalless draw under the scorching rays of the Kazan sun. After receiving a small hint during the water break, the Samaritans immediately created a chance, but Arthur Nigmatulin, who came on after 30 minutes of play, was good in this episode. By the way, Daniil Motorin and the club's newcomer Ilya Samoshnikov also appeared on the field. On the opposing side, we saw Konstantin Rasskazov on the green grass of the base in Socgorod. By the way, Artiga commented on the newcomer’s performance after the match: "Ilya arrived straight from the ship to the ball. He did not have a full training cycle with us; he debuted in the match against Spartak. After 48 hours, we played another match. But it’s not a big deal - we will have another training camp, where we will get to know each other and adapt even faster," he said.
The first half would have ended that way if it weren't for an individual display of skill - this time it was Ruslan Bezrukov who was responsible for it. He entered the penalty area, felt contact with an opponent, and fell. On the replay, it was hard to say whether it was a penalty or not. The Samara coach Sergey Bulatov was indignant. "You should be fined if you call such a penalty during the season," he told the referees.
In any case, Gripshi calmly outplayed the goalkeeper - he sent him and the ball in opposite directions. Just four minutes later, the same Bezrukov crossed from the right flank into the penalty area, and Igor Vuyachich jumped higher than everyone else in the air, outleaping all and sending the ball into the net with his head past Sergey Pesyakov.
Young fans and Artiga's conclusions
While the 15-minute break between the two halves was underway, I took a walk along the field. Behind the Kazan goal, three guys were "crowding": posters, drawings, inscriptions, chants. I was surprised when I saw one of them with an Austrian flag. Apparently, this was personal support for Dardan Shabanhadzhay.
The teams, returning after the break, created several more dangerous moments, but "Rubin" secured the victory - 2:0. After the game, none of the players spoke to journalists, but Frank Artiga did communicate with us: "We had a fairly productive game against Spartak, today we played against Samara. Such a schedule is necessary; it provides a load. We are preparing for the season. Nevertheless, despite such a tight schedule, the team looked quite good. I am satisfied. Of course, there are also things to improve in our game," said the "Rubin" coach. Before the start of the championship, Kazan has one away match left - to Moscow against "Lokomotiv." Two friendly matches against the "railroaders" will take place on July 18.
