The "Defenders of the Fatherland" Fund provides extensive legal support to veterans of the Special Military Operation.

      The State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland" actively assists participants of the special military operation and their relatives in resolving legal issues. The organization's specialists help with the processing of benefits, social guarantees, compensations, and various payments, as well as monitor compliance with rights to the due monetary allowances. To expand the scope of assistance, the fund has established partnerships with key legal institutions in the country. Among them are the Federal Notary and Bar Chambers, the "Association of Lawyers of Russia," the Ministry of Justice, the Commissioner for Human Rights Institute, as well as law enforcement and investigative agencies. The chairperson of the fund and deputy head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Anna Tsivileva, emphasized that such interaction has allowed for the establishment of an effective legal support system covering all subjects of the country. According to her, the high demand for legal consultations requires constant improvement in this area of work. In the Republic of Tatarstan, over three years of operation of the regional branch, specialists have processed more than 25 thousand requests from military personnel and families of fallen heroes. The local office successfully operates a "single window" format, where representatives of the State Legal Bureau, Social Fund, Military-Social Center, and Republican Material Assistance Center provide consultations on a permanent basis. In addition, veterans can receive clarifications from prosecutors, bailiffs, military commissariats, and regional bar and notary chambers. Every week, the head of the branch conducts joint receptions with representatives of republican ministries and agencies. The head of the Tatarstan branch, Guzel Udachina, noted that inter-agency cooperation allows for the prompt resolution of emerging difficulties and finding optimal solutions to non-standard situations. She emphasized that comprehensive legal protection is critically important for the successful adaptation of veterans to civilian life and for defending their legal interests. To maintain a high level of competencies, the social coordinators of the branch undergo in-person training courses monthly, studying changes in legislation and new support measures. In parallel with the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the fund has systematized all types of federal, regional, and local assistance, gathering them in a convenient format on the government services portal. The established work algorithm allows coordinators to provide personal support to beneficiaries across the country, timely identifying problems and helping to realize rights to benefits. Participants of the special military operation, border defenders, volunteers, fighters of private military companies, military personnel of the DPR and LPR formations, as well as their relatives have the right to free legal assistance. Legislation provides for 21 categories of cases in which assistance is provided. Most often, veterans apply for the appointment of social payments, receipt of monetary allowances, or to appeal the actions of officials.

      The fund itself was established by a decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for comprehensive support of defenders of the homeland. In addition to legal services, the organization is engaged in medical rehabilitation, employment, retraining, adapting housing to the needs of people with disabilities, and organizing long-term care. The fund's branches cover the entire territory of Russia.
