      A sentence has been handed down to a 19-year-old resident of Nizhnekamsk. The young man was found guilty of three episodes of attempted intentional destruction of someone else's property by arson, as well as giving knowingly false testimony, reports the Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan. According to the materials of the criminal case, for a monetary reward, the young man attempted to set fire to several apartments in Nizhnekamsk. He acted on the instructions of an unknown person, which he received via the Internet. The stranger informed the young man that people who had allegedly appropriated drugs lived in those apartments. "If the criminal intent had been carried out, the property owners would have suffered material damage totaling more than 11 million rubles," the prosecutor's office said in a statement. Furthermore, during the court proceedings regarding his friend, who was accused of attempting to sell drugs and enticing a child to consume them, the perpetrator gave false testimony to justify his friend and absolve him of criminal responsibility. The 19-year-old young man admitted his guilt. The court sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months in a general regime colony.
