Residents of Bavilny clarified the dangers of swimming in unauthorized places for this purpose.
With the arrival of hot days, residents of the area increasingly seek water. However, resting by water bodies carries serious risks if one approaches the choice of a swimming spot without due responsibility. Vyacheslav Dolgikh, head of the Territorial Department of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing in the Republic of Tatarstan for the Bugulminsky, Aznakayevsky, Bavlinsky, and Yutazinsky districts, explains how to spend time by the water in a way that is beneficial for health and without unpleasant consequences. "Summer has arrived, bringing the start of the beach season. Summer brings many joys — sun, swimming, games, free time. At the same time, dangers lurk that one must know and remember how to protect oneself in various situations," notes Vyacheslav Dolgikh. "The main thing to consider before swimming in a water body is safety. Be vigilant; do not rely solely on a visual assessment of the cleanliness of the water body. First and foremost, pay attention to the presence of a warning sign 'Swimming Prohibited' on the shore. Often during the summer, one can see people relaxing on the shores of 'wild' water bodies, where swimming can pose serious health risks. Swimming in such water bodies increases the risk of contracting parasitic diseases, fungal infections, and acute intestinal infections. Even a simple dip without swallowing water can lead to otitis, conjunctivitis, or dermatitis." The only officially permitted swimming location in the Bavlinsky district is the open city pool. Here, all conditions for safe recreation are created: a lifeguard post is on duty daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, buoys are installed, and a separate fenced area in the water is equipped for young visitors. On particularly hot days, when the flow of visitors increases, there are four lifeguards on duty at the post. A list of permitted recreation zones for swimming during the summer season is published on the official website of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing in the Republic of Tatarstan. Throughout the swimming season, the department conducts laboratory monitoring of the water quality of the water body and the sand on the beach. Current information about the results of the conducted research is also posted on the official website of the department. "Plan your recreation by the water only in specially equipped and permitted places and do not ignore signs prohibiting swimming," urges Vyacheslav Dolgikh. "Following this simple advice will help avoid infectious complications while relaxing on the beach." Lifeguards also remind: swimming should only be done in officially permitted places where the bottom has been surveyed and lifeguards are on duty. Swimming in other places in the district is prohibited. Ignoring these rules can cost not only health but also lives. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
