      On July 25, the results of the open competition "Best Bus Driver of Regular Urban Passenger Routes" were announced at the Maidan in the Pribrezhny Park, with more than 50 representatives from 40 cities in Russia and Belarus participating. The closing ceremony was as bright as the opening ceremony.

      An exhibition of buses produced by the KAMAZ Group of Companies and passenger cars "Moskvich" was organized for the spectators on the territory of the Maidan. Meanwhile, artists from the city performed on stage.

      Once again, a parade of competition participants took place – to the applause of the audience, the drivers walked to the center of the Maidan. The solemn award ceremony was conducted by State Duma Deputy Alfiya Kogogina, Deputy General Director for Sales and Service of PJSC "KAMAZ" Anton Saraykin, Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Khisamutdinov, and the head of the city executive committee Farid Salakhov.

      "For our city, it has become a good tradition to hold competitions for the professional skills of drivers. But a competition of this scale for bus drivers – when the best representatives of their profession from all over the country and brotherly Belarus came – is happening for the first time," noted Anton Saraykin. "For us, this is a great honor. And it is very symbolic that the competition took place in a jubilee year for our company and city." The Deputy General Director emphasized the importance and value of the bus driver's profession.

      "It is not just about transporting and managing a vehicle; it is a huge responsibility for the life, health, and safety of passengers and road users. You are the true soul of the machinery," Anton Saraykin addressed the competition participants and all representatives of the profession. "You are the ones who bring the mechanisms to life, who set the motion in motion. We are the manufacturers of the machinery; you are the soul of this machinery. There are no losers here; you are the best in your profession."

      State Duma Deputy Alfiya Kogogina thanked the drivers for their attitude towards their work: "It is a great honor for me, on behalf of the State Duma, to greet you and the real men – the bus drivers. I want to express heartfelt gratitude to those who came up with this competition and organized it, thanks to whom we observed the professionalism of our guys for two days. Huge thanks to the drivers for their philosophy of following the golden rules of road safety. These rules are simple, but they are so lacking on our roads."

      The head of the executive committee of Naberezhnye Chelny, Farid Salakhov, noted that the competition continued the city's sports traditions: "Our city is the capital of truck manufacturing, truck motorsport, and develops many technical sports. It is a great honor for us to hold a competition for large bus drivers. We succeeded thanks to the great support of PJSC "KAMAZ" and personally Sergey Anatolyevich Kogogin. We once again saw that there are great professionals behind the wheel, and we can feel safe in public transport."

      WHO BECAME THE BEST BUS DRIVER

      The award ceremony began with individual nominations. The winners received cash prizes of 50,000 rubles and washing machines. The "Best Debutant" of the competition was recognized as a young driver from Kazan, Vadim Matveev. In an interview with "Vesti KAMAZ," he shared that the challenges were tough, but his experience working with NEFAZ buses, which are the majority in the capital of Tatarstan, allowed him to cope successfully.

      The best expert on traffic rules was Alexander Zuev from Kostroma. The strongest on the high-speed driving track was Sergey Ivanov from Moscow. The best on the comfortable driving track was Sergey Prokhorov from Naberezhnye Chelny.

      A special prize from PJSC "KAMAZ" was awarded to driver Rinat Abdushev from Saransk, who is a participant in the SVO.

      The climax of the ceremony was the announcement of the winners. The bronze medal of the competition was won by Alexander Yukhnovich from Minsk. He received a cash prize of 100,000 rubles and a washing machine. In an interview with our publication, he shared that he had participated in driver competitions many times, but Chelny surprised him with their warm welcome and organization of the event.

      The second place was taken by Ramil Safin from Chelny. He received a reward of 200,000 rubles and a refrigerator.

      Finally, the Maidan erupted in applause upon hearing that the winner was Alexander Volkov from Naberezhnye Chelny. Anton Saraykin handed him the keys to a "Moskvich 3" car provided by PJSC "KAMAZ." Alexander Volkov took a victory lap in the new car to applause. The festive evening concluded with a concert by Tatar pop star Firdaus Tyamaev and the "Safari" group.
