Minnihanov took part in the unveiling of the Tukay monument in Kazakhstan.

      The Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Akim of the North Kazakhstan region Gauyez Nurmukhambetov participated in the opening ceremony of the bust of the classic of Tatar literature Gabdulla Tukay in Petropavlovsk. After the opening, they laid flowers at the monument, reports the press service of the Head of Tatarstan. The event is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the poet's birth. The bust is installed in a new square, which is also named after Gabdulla Tukay. The author of the sculpture is Venera Abdullina. Nearby is the regional center of the Kazakh poet, philosopher, and educator Magzhan Zhumabaev. Tukay's work had a profound influence on the formation of the literary heritage of the Kazakh classic. The ceremony noted that the fate of Gabdulla Tukay is closely connected with Kazakhstan, and the opening of the bust will serve to strengthen cultural ties between the peoples of Tatarstan and Kazakhstan.
