       A fatal traffic accident occurred last night in Zelenodolsk: a car with seven teenagers crashed into a tree and caught fire, only one fourteen-year-old boy survived.

       In the city of Zelenodolsk, a terrible car accident occurred on the night of July 24, claiming the lives of six minors. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, information about the traffic accident was received by the duty unit at 6:24 AM. Preliminary data indicates that a passenger car, which had seven people inside, veered off the roadway at high speed, crashed into a tree, and caught fire. The ages of those in the car ranged from 15 to 18 years, all of whom were residents of the neighboring Republic of Mari El. As a result of the incident, six people died at the scene, and only one teenager born in 2010 managed to survive. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, the injured person with burns covering 30 percent of their body was urgently hospitalized at the Zelenodolsk Central District Hospital. The Investigative Committee of Russia for Tatarstan has opened a criminal case under the article on violation of traffic rules, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence. According to preliminary reports, the driver lost control. As stated by the head of the traffic police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Zelenodolsk district, Ramil Idiatullin, traffic police officers are working at the scene, and the causes and circumstances of the accident are being investigated. It was previously reported that in the Sarmanovsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan, due to heavy rains caused by an active cyclone, serious damage occurred to the roadway on the regional highway. On the Naberezhnye Chelny – Sarmanovo road, the earth embankment was washed away by water flows, leading to the collapse of the asphalt concrete surface and a complete halt of traffic in that area.
