      Dear fellow believers! We would like to draw your attention to the fact that starting from the beginning of August, there will be changes in the timing of the night (yastü/isha) and morning (irtänge/fajr) prayers in the regions of the Republic of Tatarstan – they will return to the previous times that were in effect before May of this year. We remind you that, starting from the beginning of May (for Kazan from May 5) and until the beginning of August, due to the geographical features of our region, the white glow of sunset merges with the whiteness of the morning dawn – that is, throughout the night, the whiteness on the horizon does not disappear, and therefore the time for the night (yastü) prayer does not arrive, and the time for the morning (irtänge) prayer cannot be determined visually. Based on this and relying on the opinions of Islamic scholars, this time is calculated by the clock: it is conditionally accepted that the time for the night prayer begins one and a half hours after sunset, and the time for the completion of "Suhur" and the beginning of the morning prayer is counted as two hours before sunrise. The first changes in the prayer times are observed in the southern regions of Tatarstan. The changes in the prayer times in the city of Kazan will occur on August 8: on this day, yastü will begin at 22:06, and on August 9, the time for the morning prayer will be at 00:19.
