In Tatarstan, the clearing of three water arteries with a total length of 38.2 kilometers has begun. The work is being carried out as part of the federal project "Water of Russia" under the national project "Ecological Well-being." By 2030, 2.3 billion rubles will be allocated for four environmental protection activities, of which two billion will come from the federal budget. The Melekska River in Naberezhnye Chelny has already been cleared by 40 percent. On a section 3.1 kilometers long, shrubs have been removed, temporary roads have been arranged, and silt is currently being pumped out. The work is planned to be completed in 2027.
The clearing of the Chelny River, which is 7.1 kilometers long, will begin in 2027 and be completed by 2028. The project, costing nearly 134 million rubles, is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of KAMAZ and the 400th anniversary of Naberezhnye Chelny.
The largest project will be the Nox River in Kazan. Its length is almost 28 kilometers, and the work is scheduled for 2028-2030. The estimated cost is 798 million rubles.
The Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan, Azat Ziganshin, reported that a list of 50 water bodies in need of improvement has already been formed. Project documentation is ready for each, and the republic will restore them sequentially.
