A man drowned while swimming drunk in a pond in the Apastovsky district of Tatarstan. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, the tragedy occurred in the village of Stary Yumraly. The body of water was not equipped for swimming, as indicated by a sign posted on the shore. Nevertheless, the group of men ignored the warning. At some point, one of them went under the water. Witnesses retrieved him from a depth of two meters, five meters from the shore. Friends attempted to provide first aid to the man, but their efforts were unsuccessful. An administrative case has been initiated against the deceased's friends for swimming in an unprepared place, the statement said.
