In Kazan, Sports Day will unite more than 30 venues and dozens of competitions.
The Day of Kazan Sports will take place on August 8 at the "Uram" extreme park as part of the All-Russian Physical Culture Day. More than 30 sports venues, master classes in 12 sports, competitions, and meetings with famous athletes have been prepared for the residents and guests of the city. This was announced at the business Monday by the chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Kazan, Linar Garipov. According to the speaker, the celebration will begin at 8:30 with a mass warm-up led by well-known athletes Svetlana Lipatova, Virineya Maximova, and Matvey Zanin. The program also includes a nationwide 3x3 basketball tournament "Orange Ball" featuring the best teams from Kazan and Tatarstan, as well as players from professional clubs "Rubin," UNICS, and "Zenit-Kazan." In addition, there will be beach volleyball competitions, after which athletes will meet with fans at an autograph session. Active leisure enthusiasts will be able to participate in slam ball competitions, jumping and performing tricks on scooters, throwing a 30-kilogram ball, as well as completing the standards of the GTO complex. For the third time, a cycling marathon will take place, where participants will compete in speed and distance covered on special bicycles. As part of the celebration, there will also be the "Sails of Kazan" races, the second Raisa Tatarstan Cup in backgammon among veterans of the special military operation with the participation of 250 athletes from 36 municipalities, the final of the Kazan Football Cup, and tournaments in beach soccer and volleyball among teams from residential complexes as part of the "Champions of Our Yard Spartakiad" project.
"The Day of Kazan Sports is a celebration where records become a shared history, and sports unite children and adults, newcomers and champions, residents from all districts of the city. I invite everyone to be a part of this celebration," concluded Garipov.
