      A 19-year-old resident of Kazan agreed to participate in an online prize draw. The girl found information about it in one of the messengers. After that, she received a message about winning a large sum of money. Under various pretexts, the fraudsters gradually extorted money from the victim: they first asked her to transfer small amounts ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 rubles. In the end, the girl was informed that to receive the winnings, she needed to pay a "tax." Following the instructions of the unknown individuals, the girl sent a total of more than 60,000 rubles to the fraudsters' accounts. After that, the scammers stopped communicating with her and deleted the correspondence. The victim reported to the police. A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Fraud." Currently, police officers are conducting a comprehensive set of operational-search activities aimed at identifying individuals involved in the illegal activities. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kazan urges citizens to be vigilant:

      • do not trust messages about winnings received on social networks, messengers, or by email;

      • under no circumstances should you transfer money to unfamiliar individuals.

      If you have become a victim of fraud, immediately report it to the police at the numbers "02" or "112."
