      From July 27 to August 2, the OMVD received 150 reports of incidents — among them were credit card thefts, phone hacks, attempts of unauthorized access, and serious accidents involving teenagers.

      Incident summary in the Zainsk district for the week

      During the period from July 27 to August 2, the duty unit of the OMVD received 150 statements and reports from citizens. Police registered three cases of fraud and two instances of unauthorized access to computer information.

      Victims of phone scammers

      A 1985-born resident of the city transferred 760,000 rubles to scammers — the criminals posed as employees of Rosfinmonitoring and the FSB and convinced the woman to cancel allegedly taken loans in her name. Another applicant, a 36-year-old local resident, lost 44,000 rubles, believing he was helping a friend. And a 24-year-old city resident lost 168,000 rubles after his mobile phone was hacked — money was withdrawn from credit cards.

      Traffic accidents with injuries

      During the week, 12 accidents were registered, two of which involved injuries. A tragedy occurred at the Zainsk station: the body of a man born in 1955 was found on the railway tracks. On the night of August 1, a car overturned in the village of Sarsaz-Bagryazh with four minors (aged 13-17) — all were hospitalized, one was sent to the BSMMP of Naberezhnye Chelny. Traffic police detained three drunk drivers and recorded 73 traffic violations.
