Sales of new cars in Russia increased by 10% for January-July 2026.

      The market for domestically produced cars exceeded 516 thousand units — an increase of 26.5%, and their share in the total sales volume grew by 8 percentage points to 63.4%. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, from January to July 2026, 815.1 thousand new cars were sold in Russia — 10% more than in the same period last year. The market for domestically produced cars exceeded 516 thousand units — an increase of 26.5%, and their share in the total sales volume grew by 8 percentage points to 63.4%. This is reported by TASS. In the passenger car segment, 732.1 thousand were sold, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 17.2% to 48 thousand, trucks by 6.7% to 29.3 thousand, and buses by 3.5% to 5.7 thousand. The growth of the hybrid and electric vehicle market is particularly noticeable: over seven months, 70.2 thousand were sold, which is 94.7% more than a year ago. At the same time, the share of such cars produced in the Russian Federation increased from 11% to 26.3%, and they accounted for almost 9% of the total volume of new cars.
