In Kazan, the Lenin Garden is being renovated: what will change near the Butlerov monument

      In Kazan, the reconstruction of the entrance group to Lenin Garden near the monument to the scientist Alexander Butlerov continues. The work is already halfway done. The update of the area is part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." The mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, checked the progress of the improvement. According to him, after the work is completed, the space will become more convenient and safe for residents, students, and guests of the city.

      On an area of more than 1,700 square meters, the old covering has already been dismantled, concrete work has been completed, lighting networks have been laid, and a water supply system for automatic irrigation has been installed. Specialists are currently laying paving stones around the monument.

      The updated square will feature a full-fledged recreation area. Here, 15 trees and 816 shrubs will be planted, including elms, maples, lilacs, viburnums, cotoneasters, and hazels. New lanterns will also be installed, and artistic lighting for the trees and the Butlerov monument will be organized.

      For visitors, eight benches and four trash bins are provided. Safety will be monitored using a video surveillance system. In addition, an information stand about the scientific achievements of Alexander Butlerov will be installed in the square.

      One of the project's tasks was to eliminate the problem of spontaneous parking near the monument. To protect the pedestrian zone, granite bollards with decorative chains will be installed. The traffic scheme has also been changed: Professor Nuzhin Street has been made one-way, and official parking spaces will appear along the road.
