The number of small technology companies in Tatarstan has increased by 40%.

      The average annual revenue of one small technology company in Tatarstan exceeds 245 million rubles. As of the first half of 2026, the Republic of Tatarstan has recorded 273 small technology companies (STC). This figure is 40% higher than the data for the same period in 2025. The majority of Tatarstan's STCs operate in the industrial sector, telecommunications, and the internet industry, as well as in healthcare, mining, research and development, and engineering design. The product portfolio of these companies predominantly features new manufacturing technologies, complex engineering systems, materials with enhanced characteristics, developments in artificial intelligence, and intelligent management systems. The official status of STC exempts enterprises from the need to undergo additional bureaucratic procedures to receive state support – no paperwork or repeated confirmations are required. Representatives of Tatarstan are actively involved in a grant program aimed at "growing" technological projects to meet the demands of the largest Russian corporations.

      In addition, a wide range of federal tools is available for regional STCs – from preferential lending to inclusion in the list of participants in "Skolkovo." The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan acts as the curator of these measures, implementing them within the framework of the federal project "Technologies" and the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." To date, Tatarstan accounts for 22% of the total number of STCs in the Volga Federal District and 4% of the national figure. Nationwide, the register of STCs includes over 7,200 organizations. Meanwhile, the average annual revenue of one Tatarstan STC exceeds 245 million rubles – this is 32% higher than the average across the Russian Federation.
