The Prosecutor's Office of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny conducted an inspection of the enforcement of legislation in the field of combating corruption. It was established that from 2020 to 2022, the head of a transport company transferred over 1.8 million rubles to an employee of the State Budgetary Institution "Traffic Safety" for the unhindered passage of the company's freight vehicles through weight control posts. The city prosecutor initiated an administrative offense case against the organization under part 2 of article 19.28 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (illegal remuneration on behalf of a legal entity). As a result of the case review, the organization was fined 10 million rubles, with the confiscation of the funds transferred as a bribe, amounting to over 1.8 million rubles. In addition, the organization was deprived of the right to participate in state and municipal procurement for two years. In December 2025, the director of the transport company was convicted under part 3 of article 30 and part 5 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted bribery) and sentenced to a fine of 3.7 million rubles. The bribe-taker was convicted under parts 3 and 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud) and sentenced to 3 years of conditional imprisonment.
